About WordPress

WordPress is a free blogging platform available for free as a hosted solution at WordPress.com or for self-hosting at WordPress.org. Though the focus of Theme Playground is to assist owners of WordPress.org self-hosted blogs and developers, the content does touch on WordPress.com as well.

If you’ve been frustrated with other blogging options in the past, or are looking for a fresh start with a solid platform, many fantastic bloggers would suggest WordPress. It is extremely scalable, open-source, and the community behind it really is awesome. Just look at some of the Theme Playground community to get an idea!

If you have other specific questions regarding WordPress, feel free to contact Theme Playground or see our pricing information on the Consulting page.

About the Author

Ryan Imel has been using WordPress for a couple of years now, and he has been very intrigued with it from the beginning.

Ryan has been featured at ProBlogger and writes regularly for Daily Blog Tips and CopyBlogger, due in large part to his knowledge and experience with WordPress. His writings on semantic markup and entrepreneurial training are featured at blogs like Wisdump, Blogging Tips, and Freelance Folder as well (all of which are WordPress blogs, by the way).

If you would like to enlist Ryan to blog for you on WordPress, valid markup, blogging, or otherwise, please refer to the contact form.
